Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley at the Netherfield Dance Party

Chapter 3 of Pride and Prejudice deals mainly with the dance party that took place at Netherfield. Mr. Bingley arranged it and he brought some people with him from London. His friend Mr. Darcy caught the attention of every woman for two reasons. He was more handsome than Mr. Bingley and secondly, he was much more richer. He earned 10,000 pounds a year. So, he was the center of attention for every woman in the party. Mr. Bingley looked rather ordinary beside him. However, Mr. Bingley became more popular because he danced with many girls. On the other hand, Mr. Darcy did not dance with any girl except the two sisters of Mr. Bingley.
Darcy felt and acted the way that he was much higher than any woman of that area. He even said bad words about Elizabeth Bennet and it created bad feeling in her. This chapter showed us Darcy as a proud man and it created prejudice in the mind of Elizabeth about him.
