I am working on my own national epic poem-- a song about 9/11/01. Expect to see it circulate through the internet next september. This is not my first epic poem, although it is my first "serious" one. I have previously written a science fiction epic poem entitled the SkyPath Crusade. I am using the same structure for my september 11th poem, which is currently 25% finished.
ReplyDeleteEpic is not only important part of literature but also important for history. It has great significance. Epic is considered as the written records of history. When historian tries to know about any particular ancient age he or she can take help from the epic, which belongs to that period. In epic, we can find the image of that period when it was written. Archaeologists or historians they can find several information from epic. In this way, the historians have come to know about several histories which have not proper written records.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is true that most of the epic were written in many centuries ago. Throughout the year, the style of writing has been changed. So, may be in the 21st century we can not find any epic poetry. However, there is no doubt that epic has an important place in the history of English literature.

ReplyDeleteI, too, am currently writing an epic poem. Unfortunately, the epic is not a very mainstream or popular form of literature, and it may be difficult to find many in the 21st century.
